Archeological Collections Coordinator

Dovetail is seeking a full-time Archaeological Collections Coordinator in our Fredericksburg, Virginia office. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the flow of artifacts through the laboratory process, in coordination with the entire lab team, from post-field check-in to curation. Responsibilities may extend to artifact analysis, data entry, cataloguing, and general lab organization, as assigned. The ideal candidate is very detail oriented and well organized, with strong communication skills. The salary range for this position is $39,000–$50,000 per year. Senior Level Project Archaeologist

Dovetail is accepting applications for a Senior Level Project Archaeologist based out of our Wilmington, Delaware office, though a position in our Fredericksburg, Virginia office may be possible for the right candidate.  Primary responsibilities of this position will be planning and participating in cultural resource management projects, coordinating with clients and agencies, conducting fieldwork, and analyzing data. Your responsibilities will also include preparing comprehensive reports and compliance documents, developing project scopes, and mentoring staff. We are specifically looking for candidates with expertise in agency coordination, proposal preparation, and writing complex data recovery reports. The ideal candidate will be well-organized, with strong communication and technical writing skills. Project Archaeologist I

Dovetail is accepting applications for a full-time Project Archaeologist I in our Fredericksburg, Virginia office; hybrid work options are available but some office time will be required on a regular basis. Primary responsibilities of this position center on the day-to-day management of, and participation in, archaeological projects of all types and sizes. Responsibilities may also extend to writing archaeological project proposals, training of staff, and representation of Dovetail at meetings, conferences, or events. The ideal candidate will be well-organized, with strong communication and technical writing skills. The salary range for this position is $46,000–$60,000, and the position is eligible for performance-based bonuses. Architectural Historian

Archaeological Technicians

Dovetail Cultural Resource Group is accepting applications for Archaeological Technicians for projects throughout our service area. Some projects may last for up to four months or more, and all phases of work will be involved. Project schedules are typically Monday through Friday; hotel and per diem are available during the workweek for those not local to the project areas with some weekend lodging available on certain projects.
